Data-Driven Visibility: The LIXIL Command Center
Building a single source of truth in Looker Studio by consolidating GA4, Shopify, and Google Ads.
The Bottleneck
When I took over reporting at LIXIL, an international manufacturer of plumbing fixtures, the data was chaotic and fragmented. We had Shopify for ecommerce, GA4 for traffic, and Google Ads for spend. It was a chore to get a straight answer on ROI because every platform lived in its own silo. Leadership had to look at a mass of Excel spreadsheets just to understand if a campaign was working.
The Hack
I built a centralized dashboard in Looker Studio to act as a single source of truth. I didn’t just dump numbers into a chart. I automated the pipelines to pull from our ecommerce backend and our marketing channels, finally getting rid of the manual CSV exports.
Beyond the Numbers
I used SQL to query internal databases and merged that with our frontend traffic. This allowed me to provide automated weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports that actually meant something.
I didn’t just deliver the charts. I provided the context. When I noticed a dip in keyword rankings, I suggested the specific site improvements needed to win that traffic back.
The Result
This visibility changed how leadership made decisions. We stopped guessing and started responding to the data in real-time. By identifying and fixing the gaps in our SEO and site processes, we hit double-digit organic traffic recovery.
